Bonnie Prince Charlie Statue in Derby

Friday, September 8th–Sunday, September 10th, 2017:

Annual Gathering of The 1745 Association in London. Venue: The Clarendon Hotel, Blackheath.

Proposed visits include The National Portrait Gallery, The Tower of London/Tower Hill, The British Museum as well as the 1745 Association plaque in St George's Gardens. The theme is the story of the Jacobites and Bonnie Prince Charlie in the years immediately after Culloden. The Gathering is for members of the Association only, but two events during the Gathering are free to attend and open to any members of the public who wish to attend:

Sunday, September 10th, 9:30–10:00 AM:

Commemoration at their place of execution at Tower Hill, London, of the lives of the Earl of Kilmarnock, Lord Balmerino and Lord Lovat. This will include a pibroch in honour of their memory.

Sunday, September 10th, 2:00–2:30 PM:

At the Derwentwater Memorial in Acton Park, London, John Nicholls MBE, Honorary Life President of The Fifteen, the Northumbrian Jacobite Society, will remember the life and times of James Radcliffe, 3rd Earl of Derwentwater and grandson of Charles II and his younger brother Charles, the titular 5th Earl, both of whom paid the ultimate price for their loyalty to the House of Stuart.
